Kim Smith
Kim Smith is a specification sales representative at Hossley Lighting & Power Solutions in Fort Worth, Tx. Prior to entering the rep side of lighting, Ms. Smith was a lighting designer for Jacobs Engineering for 20 years. She has a lighting certification (LC) and is a LEED AP BD+C professional. She has experience in the BIM software Revit and the lighting software Agi32. Her project experience includes commercial, industrial, healthcare, federal, and higher education. She enjoys assisting engineers, architects and interior designers to deliver a lighting design that both complements the architect’s vision for the space while meeting energy codes and the owner’s budget. She has been a member of IESNA since 2003 and her passion for lighting education has led her to serve as the current IES District 4 Chair for the southern US and Mexico. Her lighting awards include: 36th Annual SOURCE Award Lighting Design Competition – Commercial Honorable Mention Sustainability Award, (2) IES Dallas Section Illumination Awards – Edwin F. Guth Memorial, (2) IES Illumination Awards of Merit, and an IES Illumination Award for Energy & Environmental Lighting Design. In her spare time, she enjoys searching for Italian and French-inspired antiques and is currently pursuing a degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Oklahoma.
